Weekend Memes: Ash Wednesday

It seems the older we get, the faster the days fly by! While the busyness of life is good, we must be careful to be still present in our daily lives. To quote the demon depicted in C.S. Lewis’s The Screwtape Letters,

“But we want a man hag-ridden by the Future.… We want a whole race perpetually in pursuit of the rainbow’s end, never honest, nor kind, nor happy now, but always using as mere fuel wherewith to heap the altar of the future every real gift which is offered them in the Present.”

Ash Wednesday can be a great wakeup call to remind us of our mortality and to live in each and every moment we are gifted, for the future is not a guarantee. Take time to enjoy the life you are given.. and some memes 😉
