We Await Our Most Precious Gift …

Thus says the LORD:
You, Bethlehem-Ephrathah
too small to be among the clans of Judah,
from you shall come forth for me
one who is to be ruler in Israel;
whose origin is from of old,
from ancient times.
Micah 5:1-3

“Lord, make us turn to you; show us your face and we shall be saved.”

Psalm 80

Is it possible, even hopeful, that in our “want it now” society, that we can be patient, that we can wait for God’s precious gift to us, His Son?

Our God has made the promise of redemption, His favor, His love, and all He asks is that we as His people acknowledge our faith, hope, and love of one another in return.

Our daily life seems much too noisy, crowded, angry, and filled with unhappiness among those we know.

Why? Realizing our special gift is to soon be in our midst, to save us, is the news we want so desperately, the reward which we embrace.

The signs are all over. Not the decorations, not the “holiday” music, not the forced gaiety.

The signs of the coming of fulfillment, of true joy, and lasting happiness are SO close.

Lord, make us turn to You. Show us Your face, and we shall be saved.
