WATCH: This Sunday, How Is Your Obedience?

“Teach me your ways, O, Lord,” says the Psalm. That is the attitude of obedience shown by the first Apostles in the Gospel and Jonah in the First Reading.

But do we show that same attitude? On this Third Sunday of Ordinary Time, Year B, Brother Leven Harton challenges us to to ask, “How obedient are we to our bosses, our spouses … or are we distant or duplicitous?”

A Benedictine College graduate, Brother Leven is a monk of St. Benedict’s Abbey in Atchison, Kansas, where he serves as vocation director.

St. Benedict Abbey’s 60 Seconds for Sunday series looks at each upcoming Sunday’s readings.

The monks at the Abbey, along with the Benedictine Sisters at Mount St. Scholastica, are what make Benedictine College in Atchison, Kan., Benedictine.
