WATCH: Seminarians vs. Ravens in Benedict Bowl

Ultimately, the best answer to the Church’s abuse crisis is to raise up holy priests and lay people who will witness to the true meaning of their vocations. The Benedict Bowl at Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas, is a step in that direction.

When my son was attending Conception Seminary College in Missouri, I remember seeing a trophy on his desk.

“What’s this?” I asked.

“The Benedict Bowl. Conception won!” he said. The yearly football game pits Knights of Columbus at Conception Seminary against Benedictine College’s Knights.

My family was delighted to see the camaraderie between the two schools, and attended other contests between the Ravens and the Sons of Thunder, never quite knowing who to root for — my college or my son.

Now, the Knights of Columbus’ head office in New Haven, Conn., has produced this excellent video showing future priests taking on the Ravens. Watch it above or click here to see it.
