WATCH: Great Course, Great Campus, Great Adventure

A new DVD program from Benedictine College theologian Dr. Andrew Swafford and Jeff Cavins examine Paul’s Letter to the Romans. A bonus for those who know Benedictine College’s Atchison, Kansas, campus, is that much of it was filmed here.

In this eight-session program, theology professor Dr. Andrew Swafford and Jeff Cavins examine Paul’s letter to the Romans. The course is part of the Great Adventure Bible project from Ascension Press.

Swafford answered our questions about the Great Adventure Bible here and The Gregorian covered the Romans program before in ”Romans, or, How Paul Crushed the Empire” and “WATCH: Are You Saved? Are You Sure?”

The program is billed as teaching:

  • The Catholic teaching on salvation
  • How to explain salvation to non-Christians
  • Faith vs. works
  • How Christ’s death changed our relationship with God
  • The meaning of the difficult passages in Romans

Swafford and Cavins explain that salvation is not merely the removal of a guilty verdict. Salvation is about entering into Christ’s life and death and sharing in his eternal sonship.

Along the way, we spotted these campus locations in the trailer alone:
