Duncan Stroik to Speak on Architecture at Benedictine College

Atchison, Kan. (Sept. 12, 2022) – The Center for Beauty and Culture at Benedictine College is pleased to welcome Duncan G. Stroik, a practicing architect, author and professor of Architecture at the University of Notre Dame, for a presentation on Monday, Sept. 19, at 7:00 p.m. in the McAllister Board Room on the fourth floor of the Ferrell Academic Center. His lecture, “Skillful Architects and Able Craftsmen: Today’s Renewal of Architectural Craft,” is free and open to the public.

Stroik participated in visioning sessions for Benedictine College’s new strategic plan, Transforming Culture in America. That plan gave rise to the Center for Beauty and Culture to encourage a renaissance in the intersection of theology and the arts, including music, art, architecture, liturgy and the concept of beauty itself. By featuring Stroik in its distinguished speaker series, the Center is providing students and the community access to a prominent thought leader whose architectural accomplishments illustrate an integration of theory and practice – the intellectual riches of the Catholic Faith and the mastery of a craft.
