Atchison, Kansas – The Benedictine College Knights of Columbus Council #4708 was awarded the distinction of Double Star Council, the international organization’s top honor for local councils. This year, the Benedictine College Council performed phenomenal programs and activities, from partaking in multiple Eucharistic Processions and leading daily rosaries on the Benedictine campus, to hosting multiple breakfasts for students and their families and assisting other on-campus student groups with activities. The Council has done incredible work this year, all while being a living example of Benedictine hospitality.
“We are the fraternal group on this campus who support each other in practical, prayerful, and formational ways. All while serving our fellow students, their families and the Atchison and Benedictine College community in ways of Charity. We are a prime example of ways to live the Faith and serve others despite the business of life. Everyone on the council is involved in multiple groups on campus beyond academics, the Council becomes a resource for them to put their faith into action,” said Christopher Holzman, the past Grand Knight of the Council. “I have to give my thanks to my outstanding group of officers, the Monks in St. Benedict’s Abbey, and the Kansas State Council and Benedictine College Administration who have assisted in even the smallest ways this year.”
