Entering the Peace of Advent

The Lord is near.
Have no anxiety at all, but in everything,
by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving,
make your requests known to God.
Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding
will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:4-7

My heart is not proud, my eyes not above you; You fill my soul.
I am not filled with great things, nor with thoughts beyond me.
Psalm 131 (My Soul Is Still)

So much darkness.

So much anger.

So much sadness.

So much loneliness.

So much angst.

So many believing “I have no control”.

“I am afraid..”

Our loving God knows us from the womb.

He knows all this pain, yet has us happily  prepare the way for the beautiful birth.

How can it be that the coming joy of Jesus’ humble arrival is the answer to ALL these earthly issues?
The answer?

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

I wish you a peaceful and happily anticipatory Advent!
