Pictured: Crucifix in the Abbey Cemetery at Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas. The Benedictine Monks came to Atchison in 1856. In 1858, they opened the institution we know today as Benedictine College. The Monks of St. Benedict’s Abbey remain faithful friends of Benedictine College today.
