Br. Karel Soukup, OSB, reminds us that it’s God kingdom we should be after, not our own. “We fall into this same trap when we worry about our prestige, our political clout, our own importance,” he says, commenting on the readings for the 24th Sunday in Ordinary Time.

Brother Karel is a monk of St. Benedict’s Abbey on the campus of Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas.

St. Benedict Abbey’s 60 Seconds for Sunday series of videos looks at each upcoming Sunday’s readings.

The monks at the Abbey, along with the Benedictine Sisters at Mount St. Scholastica, are what make Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas, Benedictine.
