
IMAGES: On a Journey With Dante in Europe
This year marked the beginning of an innovative new Benedictine College study abroad summer program for high school students called Journey With Dante.
“Dante’s Divine Comedy is an epic poem which is a synthesis of philosophy, theology, history carved from the subtle stones of poetic verse,” says the program description. “We cannot go back in time to Dante’s century, but we can read him within the context of the philosophy and theology of his day, and cast our eyes on the very hills he saw, the rivers he crossed, the distant mountains which populate his poetic landscape.”
